High performance coil 40 kVolt

The perfect ignition coil for the PerTronix Ignitor and the 123 ignition, with virtually any inductive ignition system benefiting from the performance of our 40,000-volt coil.
The higher ignition voltage allows for larger electrode gaps. This results in improved power delivery, smoother running, and reduced fuel consumption.

These ignition coils have an internal resistance, making them compatible with many ignition systems.
Our oil-filled ignition coils ensure good heat dissipation in on-road vehicles, while the epoxy-filled version offers enhanced vibration protection in off-road vehicles and boats.

Our recommendation for 123 ignition systems

• 3.0 ohms for 4-cylinder engines up to 6,000 RPM
• 1.5 ohms for 4-cylinder engines above 6,000 RPM and all 6-cylinder engines
• 1.5 ohms for 8-cylinder engines up to 5,000 RPM

For PerTronix Ignitor and contact ignition systems

• 3.0 ohms for 4- and 6-cylinder engines with 12V electrical system
• 1.5 ohms for 4- and 6-cylinder engines with 6V electrical system
• 1.5 ohms for 8-cylinder engines with 12V electrical system

For these applications, use the ignition coil 45 kV version

• For 123 ignition systems: 8-cylinder engines > 5,000 rpm
• For PerTronix Ignitor and contact ignition systems: 8-cylinder engines with a 6V electrical system
• For PerTronix Ignitor II: 4-, 6-, and 8-cylinder engines with a 12V electrical system
